Aims: b-eat is the leading UK charity for people with eating disorders and their families. b-eat is the working name of the Eating Disorders Association, and we continue to build on the strong foundations of the past 18 years of work.

Eating disorders are a serious mental illness affecting 1.1 million people in the UK. b-eat provides helplines for adults and young people, online support and a UK-wide network of self-help groups to help people beat their eating disorder.

b-eat's vision is simple: Eating Disorders will be Beaten.

What is the Helpline?
The adult helpline is for people over 18 in the United Kingdom who wish to talk about eating disorders and to obtain information about help available in their locality. About a third of the calls are from people with an eating disorder, a third from friends and relatives and the rest a mixture of professionals and students.
