Aims: We are a 23 bedded secure unit which takes young people from all over the country. Young people are sent to us from the criminal or welfare courts. Some stay for a few days, some stay for months or years depending on what the court order says. Young people here could be placed here for a number of reasons: A conviction for a grave crime; A Detention and Training Order; On remand; Welfare accommodation. We have some of the most troubled and notorious youngsters in the country. All of them have emotional and behavioural difficulties and most of them have difficulties in controlling their tempers.
