Aims: We deal with applications for admission to nursery classes attached to primary schools and applications for Primary School Reception classes and transfer from Primary to Secondary Schools for Year 7.

Admission applications for other year groups should initially be made direct to the school. If your preferred school is full and you want advice, information about your right of appeal please contact us.

We administer the Home to School Transport Policy and assess the entitlement to assistance with transport to mainstream schools.

We provide the Departmental response to pupil exclusions and complaints (including complaints under the Education Reform Act 1988 procedures) in mainstream schools.

We are the first point of contact for schools in relation to changes to the school day and in service closures.

The following publications are specifically for parents/carers with children who will be starting school (Reception Year) or transferring to secondary school (Year 7) in September each year.

Parents/carers who are seeking information about education provision in South Gloucestershire, may find the information contained in the booklets useful.

Parents/carers who have children in other year groups looking for advice with regard to changing their children's school or have moved, or are moving into the area during the current academic year and seeking a school place, should contact Admission & Transport Unit.
