Aims: The Early Years Childcare & Play Team are part of the Education Service and provide information on and to day nurseries; pre-schools; nursery classes; reception classes; childminders; before and after school clubs; holiday playschemes and opportunities for play in parks
For providers of early years education, childcare or play, we can offer training opportunities, a vacancy bulletin, help with claiming the Nursery Education Grant and financial support in setting up new childcare in specific areas where there is an identified need. A termly newsletter is also sent to all providers.
The Team runs a Family Information Service(FIS) who can help residents through the internet or by phone, with the most up-to-date information on a whole range of childcare available for children aged 0-14 (or 16 if the child has a disability) and working in the childcare sector .
