Aims: The 24 Hour Museum is the UK’s National Virtual Museum, updated daily with at least two new stories including arts and museum news as well as exhibition notices, reviews, features and trails.

The site promotes publicly-funded UK museums, galleries, archives and heritage attractions and seeks to get the message about Britain's great culture to a broad online audience nationally and worldwide. There's not just stories to read on the site - if you're looking for somewhere to visit with the kids or in your lunch hour, the site's packed with listings info. Our events pages are driven by a live database of more than 3,800 museums, galleries and heritage sites. Many museums check and maintain their own entries in the database, so you know 24 Hour Museum info is up-to-date and authoritative.

You can search the site for what's on by place, date or by any subject you choose. The site aims to encourage visitors out into real attractions around the country and show them exciting activities all over the UK, all year round.
