Aims: Dyslexia Action is an educational charity, established in 2006, which developed from the merger of the Dyslexia Institute (founded in 1972) and the Hornsby International Dyslexia Centre (founded in 1984).

Dyslexia Action is the UK’s leading provider of services and support for people with dyslexia and literacy difficulties. We specialise in assessment, teaching and training. We also develop and distribute teaching materials and undertake research.

We are committed to improving public policy and practice. We partner with schools, LEAs, colleges, universities, employers, voluntary sector organisations and Government to improve the quality and quantity of help for people with dyslexia and specific learning difficulties.

Our services are available through our 25 centres and 160 teaching locations, including many schools, around the UK. Over half a million people benefit from our work each year. Dyslexia Action is the only national dyslexia teaching organisation in the world with our own bursary fund to help families who could not otherwise afford specialist provision
