Ages services offered to: Any

Contact person: Gill Bryant

Type of organisation: Statutory e.g. Government/local authority/health

Type of delivery point: Advice/Information Point; Social Service

Aims: The Child Protection Unit does not take referrals. The team is responsible purely for admin. We deal with professionals, providing them with information, not advice, regarding the Child Protection Register. Our team is also responsible for arranging Child Protection Conferences. When a referral has been made to the Referral and Assessment Team and a child is assessed as being in significant need, a Child Protection Conference needs to take place. The purpose of a Child Protection Conference is to ensure multi agency involvement in gathering information about the child. We will contact these various agencies that are involved in a child's life and seek their input into the Child Protection Conference.
