Aims: The Yate locality social work team offers a social work service to children and young people in Yate, Chipping Sodbury, Thornbury and rural areas. The service is provided under the auspices of The Children Act of 1989 and other relevant legislation. Working with colleagues and partner agencies the team provides services to ensure that children are protected from harm, that families are supported in caring for their children and that those who are unable to live with their family are provided with the best possible care. The team aims to work closely with children and young people and their families, even in situations where multi-agency child protection plans and legal intervention may be required to protect children.
