More About The Organisation
The Whole-Baked Cafe offers people with learning difficulties a supported introduction to the world of work. You can work towards a range of Entry level qualifications through a mixture of small group sessions and hands-on experience while you
learn to prepare delicious, healthy food and serve it to the public at lunchtimes. Our course "Working in Catering - a Practical Introduction" is for two days a week, with various start dates throughout the year.

How do people access your service?
After coming for a look around the Cafe and an informal interview, you complete an application form. When we get this, we will talk to you about which days you could come to the Cafe. Before your course starts, we will ask you to come for an induction (about an hour) covering basic health and safety rules. Everyone starts with a six-week trial period followed by a review meeting to help you decide if this is the right course for you.
If referral then by whom? For example, Social Worker, School, Doctor, Self-referral?
It is useful to have a referral from someone who knows you well, and can help you tell us what support you might need from us - for example, your social worker or other support worker, college tutor etc.
Do you have a waiting list?
We usually have a waiting list, but aim to offer someone a place as soon as possible. You can start our course at any time of the year.
Service is free to users at present, but people using the service must have a learning disability and be entitled to/receiving services from Bristol or S Glos social services/ Health and Social Care, as they partly fund the service we provide.
