More About The Organisation
The ABC Centre is a Very Sheltered Housing scheme for people over the age of 55 years.
It has a restaurant open seven days a week which serves traditional food at reasonable prices.
They hold many social, leisure and educational activities and events for example Arts and Crafts activities, Armchair Exercises, Bingo, Entertainment, Film screenings, Flower Arranging, Games/Cards, Gardening, Outings/Trips, Pat-a-Pet, Morning coffee/Afternoon Tea, Painting, Puzzles, Sing-along and many more.
Additional facilities include communal lounges, hairdresser's salon, community centre, IT room, and training/meeting facilities.
Older people from the community are welcome to attend the activities and events.
They also welcome volunteers at the centre.
Some typical activities may be birthday parties, monthly entertainment, theatre trips, special events at Christmas and Easter, BBQ’s, outings, book club, bingo, pat-a-pet, quizzes, musical workshops, etc..
There is also space for health professionals, information providers (e.g. Citizens Advice Bureau) and a range of social, recreational and healthy living opportunities for tenants and local older people in the community.
