More About The Organisation
Action on Addiction is a registered charity, which was formed in May 2007 through the merger of three organisations: Action on Addiction, Clouds and the Chemical Dependency Centre. We have treatment centres throughout England. We have a specialist family service, innovative research programmes and an expert training centre. Action on Addiction, provides support groups for people who are (or have been) affected by the alcohol or other drug misuse of someone close to them.
These are self-help groups supported and facilitated by a specially trained professional. The group provides a safe space in which to understand and explore the effects of someone else's behaviour with alcohol or other substances.
Participants, who are individually assessed, may join the group or leave as they wish throughout the year but regular attendance is strongly encouraged to aid group strength and to maintain momentum. It is not necessary for a participant to have a relative/partner currently in treatment.
