More About The Organisation
'Community Transport' describes a range of transport provided by community-based voluntary organisations to cater for local transport need, which are not met by the commercial sector. In South Gloucestershire, several Community Transport schemes have accessible minibuses which can be hired by community groups, often using their own driver (if suitably trained). They also run dial-a-ride services, which offer door-to-door transport for individuals. To use dial-a-ride, you must register with your local scheme and book your journey 24 hours in advance. There are also car schemes, which offer transport for people who are unable to use public transport (or for journeys not possible by public transport) staffed by volunteer drivers using their own cars.
