What can your local Family Information Service do for you?
As your children grow older, you may be faced with all sorts of unfamiliar problems and issues. If you are unsure of where to look for information, you can contact your local Family Information Service (FIS).
Your local FIS provides a range of information on all services available to parents, to help you support your children up to their 20th birthday, (or 25th birthday if your child has a disability). They also hold up to date details of local childcare and early years provision in your area.
Your FIS can signpost you to regional and national support organisations for families. They can also offer information, advice and training opportunities for people wishing to work in childcare.
